Leading Stanford University Economist Hunt Allcott Affiliates with Compass Lexecon

We are pleased to announce that Hunt Allcott, a Professor in the Doerr School of Sustainability at Stanford University, has affiliated with Compass Lexecon. Professor Allcott is an expert in industrial organization, environmental economics, and behavioral science. His research focuses on digital platform economics, consumer goods, automobiles, and energy. He has developed new methodologies relevant for cases in consumer protection and digital platform antitrust.
Professor Allcott’s work has been widely covered by major media outlets, including The Economist, the New York Times, NPR, and the Washington Post. His research has been published in leading academic journals such as the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Review of Economic Studies, and Science. Additionally, Professor Allcott is a member of the board of editors of the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy.
Professor Allcott is the co-director of the Stanford Environmental and Energy Policy Analysis Center, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and an affiliate of ideas42 and Poverty Action Lab. Previously, Professor Allcott was a visiting professor at Harvard and MIT, a tenured associate professor of economics at New York University, a senior principal researcher at Microsoft Research, and a fellow in the MIT Energy Initiative.
