Hunt Allcott
Senior Consultant
Hunt Allcott is a Senior Consultant with Compass Lexecon. He is also a Professor in the Doerr School of Sustainability at Stanford University. He has taught courses in industrial organization, public economics, environmental economics, and behavioral economics, for both undergraduate and PhD students.
Professor Allcott's research spans a variety of industries, including digital platforms, consumer goods, automobiles, and energy. His research has been published in leading academic journals such as the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Review of Economic Studies, and Science. His work has also been widely covered by major media outlets, including the Economist, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and NPR.
Professor Allcott is a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, the co-director of the Stanford Environmental and Energy Policy Analysis Center, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, an affiliate of ideas42 and Poverty Action Lab, and a member of the board of editors of the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy. Previously, Professor Allcott has been a visiting professor at Harvard and MIT, a tenured associate professor of economics at New York University, and a senior principal researcher at Microsoft Research.
