Former Amazon Economist Dr. Ron Laschever Rejoins Compass Lexecon as Executive Vice President and Director of Data Science and Technology

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Ron Laschever has rejoined Compass Lexecon as Executive Vice President and Director of Data Science and Technology in our Washington, DC office. In addition to client case work, he will lead the firm’s technology initiatives, including the continued development of our AI capabilities. Dr. Laschever has nearly two decades of experience in applied microeconomics, industrial organization, labor economics, and econometric analysis across academia, the tech industry, and economic consulting.

Dr. Laschever has supported clients and counsel in complex litigation and regulatory matters, including antitrust, merger reviews, class certification, and commercial damages assessments. His experience spans a broad range of industries, such as consumer products, digital platforms, financial markets, and pharmaceuticals.

For the last several years, Dr. Laschever worked as an economist at Amazon, where he led a team of scientists and PhD economists in supporting high-impact strategic decisions related to customer demand, pricing, and promotion for Amazon-branded consumer electronics, such as Kindle e-readers and Alexa-enabled smart speakers. Previously, he held faculty positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Purdue University.

Dr. Laschever holds a PhD and an MA in Economics from Northwestern University. His research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including American Economic Journal: Applied Economics and Review of Finance.
