Leading Neuro and Behavioral Economist Antonio Rangel Affiliates with Compass Lexecon

We are thrilled to announce that Antonio Rangel, the Bing Professor of Neuroscience, Behavioral Biology, and Economics at the California Institute of Technology, has affiliated with Compass Lexecon. He is an expert in neuroeconomics, behavioral economics, public economics, and political economy.

Professor Rangel has received several honors and awards from various institutions, including the Society for Neuroeconomics, the Association for Psychological Science, and the National Science Foundation. He received the 2019 NOMIS Distinguished Scientist Award, which is presented to pioneering scientists and scholars who have made a significant contribution to their respective fields.

Professor Rangel is also an in-demand expert witness. He has provided expert analyses and testimony in federal and state courts in antitrust, consumer fraud, financial disputes, and jury bias cases.

Professor Rangel has published over eighty academic articles in top science, economics, and psychology journals, including the American Economic Review, Econometrica, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Neuroscience, and Psychological Science. His neuroeconomics lab studies the computational and neurobiological basis of value-based decision-making using tools from experimental economics and cognitive neuroscience.

He was previously on the faculty of the Economics Department at Stanford University from 1998 to 2006, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
