Stefano Trento is a Senior Vice President at Compass Lexecon based in Madrid.
He has over fifteen years of experience in competition economics, specialising in competition law disputes, including litigation and arbitration across Europe and beyond.
Stefano has advised legal teams in a wide range of disputes involving alleged breaches of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU, including follow-on damages actions. In his litigation work, he has supported clients in proceedings before the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal, High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court, as well as in several other European jurisdictions. He has also advised in complex antitrust investigations before the European Commission and national authorities, and in judicial reviews of regulatory measures.
His arbitration experience includes multiple ICC, SCC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL cases concerning exploitative and exclusionary conduct, licensing practices, and long-term contracts, often in regulated sectors such as energy and telecoms.
Before joining Compass Lexecon, Stefano held a faculty position in economics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and was an affiliated professor at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics.
