Soledad Pereiras is a Vice President based in Compass Lexecon’s Madrid office.

With over 15 years of experience as a competition economist, Soledad specializes in applying empirical techniques to competition policy cases and leveraging economic analysis in antitrust investigations. Her expertise extends to advising on matters related to merger control, article 101, and article 102 cases across a wide range of industries such as telecommunications, digital markets, consumer goods, construction, or logistics. Soledad has also participated in various damage cases, using econometrics to estimate cartel damages or to assess the relevant compensation in litigation matters.

Soledad has advised on numerous merger cases before the European Commission and before other national authorities. Some examples include Holcim/Cemex, Telefónica/DTS, Amadeus/Navitaire, Ferroatlántica/Globe Specialty Metals, and Deutsche Börse/LSE.

Soledad has also been involved in estimating cartel damages, including the follow-on claims arising from the heavy truck manufacturers' infringement. She is currently engaged in litigation proceedings across several European countries, with the submission of expert reports and testifying before Spanish Courts.

Before joining Compass Lexecon, Soledad worked for consultancy LECG, for the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI, Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade), and for Ernst & Young, where she worked as a consultant in the Financial Risk Management Practice.

Soledad holds an M.A in Economics and Finance from Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI) where she specialized in Industrial Organization, Finance and Econometrics.
