Richard Zhao is a Senior Economist with Compass Lexecon based in Shanghai. He has extensive research and empirical experience in microeconomics, econometrics, and industrial organization. He has consulted and assisted the expert testimony in a range of high-profile cases on antitrust, intellectual property, and unfair competition in various jurisdictions, including China, the United States, and the Europe.

Mr. Zhao specializes in applying economic theory and statistical tools to provide economic analysis for cases such as antitrust litigations and investigations, damage calculations, and intellectual property disputes. His experience covers a wide range of industries, including digital platforms, entertainment and media, semiconductors, financial services, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and telecommunications.

Mr. Zhao holds dual master’s degree in economics from University of Pennsylvania and Fudan University. He received his undergraduate degree in economics from Central University of Finance and Economics.
