Arpita Pattanaik


Arpita is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid.

Arpita specialises in the application of economic analysis and econometric techniques to competition policy cases.

She has been involved in a range of high-profile cases relating to mergers, damage estimations and market investigations before the European Commission, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and Spanish CNMC.

Arpita has experience across a range of industries: manufacturing, digital markets, air transport, and financial markets.

Prior work experience includes working in policy research in India, focusing on the competitiveness of the Indian financial sector, commodities markets, and real estate market. The job included working within interdisciplinary teams of economists, lawyers, and engineers.

Arpita holds double Masters in Econometrics and Financial Economics from Toulouse School of Economics and Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics.
