Carla Chavich, Andres Barrera, and Jack Ghaleb will participate in the second edition of the global Cross-Examination Moot. They assisted in the case preparation and will be role-playing as experts at the competition in November.

The Cross-Examination Moot is a GAR award-winning competition for university students that focuses exclusively on cross-examination techniques in the international arbitration space and aims to educate the next generation of arbitration practitioners on the most challenging and exciting aspects of advocacy.

Case Summary

The 2022 mock case explores the intersections between the energy-intensive cryptocurrency mining industry, policies aimed at achieving net-zero emissions, and the fluctuating cryptocurrency markets in the context of an M&A transaction, as well as corruption allegations. Students will have to cross-examine fact witnesses and economic experts.
