Richard Lindsey

Academic Affiliate

Dr. Richard Lindsey is an Academic Affiliate with Compass Lexecon. Dr. Lindsey is also a Principal at Callcott Group and an adjunct finance professor at New York University. Dr. Lindsey specializes in quantitative analysis, with expertise in risk and strategy development including the uses and limitations of AI and machine learning technology for corporate management and boards. He has done extensive work in the areas of portfolio construction, risk management, and the trading of securities. Dr. Lindsey has served as Director of Market Regulation and Chief Economist at the SEC. He has also been a Professor of Finance at Yale University.

In addition, Dr. Lindsey has previously been a Managing Partner and the Chief Investment Officer at Windham Capital Management, where he was responsible for the development, implementation, management, and trading of all investment strategies. Before Windham, he served as the Chief Investment Strategist and Portfolio Manager of Liquid Alternatives for Janus Capital where he developed and managed a suite of quantitatively driven, liquid alternative investment funds built on risk premia. Before that, Dr. Lindsey was President of Bear Stearns for eight years.

Dr. Lindsey has served on several corporate boards including The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF), the Options Clearing Corporation, the International Securities Exchange, and Strike Technologies. He has held Visiting Academic positions at the Nikko Research Institute in Tokyo, Japan, and was a Visiting Economist at the New York Stock Exchange.

Dr. Lindsey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California Berkeley, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas, and a PhD in Finance from the University of California Berkeley.
