Orjan Sandewall is a Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in London.
Orjan has over 10 years’ experience of consulting and academic research in economics, and has worked on competition investigations, disputes, regulatory matters, and mergers across numerous sectors and jurisdictions. He has applied a wide range of quantitative techniques in front of competition authorities, regulators and courts.
Some notable cases he has been involved in include BAA Airports (CC), Syniverse/BSG (EU phase II), High Court litigation following on from the OFT Decision in Gaviscon, the Libor test case, the US$1.6 billion settlement of Bank of America/MBIA, the FCA investigation into investment and corporate banking, Deutsche Börse/LSE (EU phase II), Bayer/Monsanto (EU Phase II), and E.ON/Innogy (EU Phase II).
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Orjan was a member of the competition policy teams at two other economic consultancies and also carried out doctoral research. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from King’s College London. His academic research has appeared in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Labour Economics.
