Orjan Sandewall is a Senior Economist in Compass Lexecon’s London office. He has 10 years’ experience of consulting and academic research in economics, and has worked on competition investigations, disputes, regulatory matters, and mergers across numerous sectors and jurisdictions. He has applied a wide range of quantitative techniques in front of competition authorities, regulators and courts.
Some notable cases where he has been involved include BAA Airports (CC), Syniverse/BSG (EC phase II), Sports Direct/JJB (CC), High Court litigation following on from the OFT Decision in Gaviscon, the Libor test case, the US$1.6 billion settlement of Bank of America/MBIA, and Deutsche Börse/LSE (EC phase II).
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Orjan was a member of the competition policy teams at NERA and AlixPartners, and carried out doctoral research. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from King’s College London. His academic research has appeared in Journal of Finance, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Labour Economics.
