Miguel de Iruarrizaga

Miguel is an economist specializing in competition economics and public policy.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, he worked as an advisor in the cabinet of the Undersecretary of Health of the Government of Chile, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a public policy analyst at Asset AGF. He is currently a professor of the Introduction to Economics course at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Miguel obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration in International Development from the Harvard Kennedy School, a Master's degree in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and a degree in Commercial Engineering with a major in Economics from the same university.
During his time at the university, he served as a teaching assistant in microeconomics and public policy courses. He was the second-best graduate of the Master's Degree in Economics in 2020, and his thesis was distinguished. During his graduate studies at Harvard, he was an assistant in advanced microeconomics, and his degree project received the highest distinction.
He has been involved in the analysis of mergers in the telecommunications, entertainment, and other industries. His areas of interest focus on competition economics, econometric analysis as well as on the impact evaluation of public policies.
