Michael W. Matelis is a Senior Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in Washington, DC. Mr. Matelis has provided economic consulting services to the railroad, transportation, and telecommunications industries. He specializes in utilizing large and complex datasets to develop quantitative analyses such as operating models, cost breakouts, and revenue allocations. He has developed and contributed to testimony establishing pricing rates, ensuring regulatory compliance, and examining impacts of proposed regulations. Mr. Matelis joined Compass Lexecon from FTI Consulting in August 2017.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Matelis worked as a management consultant leading projects specializing in analytical and data-driven efforts for various government and private organizations. Mr. Matelis holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a minor in Information Systems from the School of Information and Library Sciences.
