Mark I. Weinstein
Senior Consultant
Mark I. Weinstein is Emeritus Associate Professor of Finance and Business Economics at the University of Southern California (USC) Marshall School of Business. He has been a faculty member at USC since 1982, having appointments in both the Marshall School of Business and the Gould School of Law.
Dr. Weinstein’s academic research focuses on the areas of law and finance and the economics of the entertainment industry. He has taught and consulted in areas including, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. His research has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the American Law and Economics Review and the Journal of Legal Studies. He was the founding Secretary/Treasurer of the Society for Financial Studies.
As a consultant Dr. Weinstein’s clients include government entities such as The Federal Home Loan Bank and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. His private sector clients include, CBS, CBS Studios, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Brothers, Williams & Connolly LLP, The National Enquirer and Standard & Poor’s Financial Services.
In addition to USC, Dr. Weinstein has taught at the State University of New York (Buffalo), Columbia University, New York University and UCLA. He has also been a visiting scholar at the University British Columbia and the University of Texas School of Law. He holds an S.B. (Statistics), and an M.B.A. and Ph.D. (Business Economics and Finance) from the University of Chicago. He also holds an MSIA (Economics) from Carnegie-Mellon University.
