Jeremy Verlinda is an Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in Washington, DC. He has more than 20 years of experience analyzing competition and consumer protection issues. He has advised clients and served as an expert in high-profile merger reviews, monopolization disputes, cartel investigations, and consumer protection cases across industries including consumer and industrial products, telecommunications, healthcare, media, energy, finance, and transportation.

Dr. Verlinda has testified on behalf of clients in antitrust matters involving monopolization and cartel conduct, including the T-Mobile/Sprint merger, municipal bond markets, maritime freight services, and other regulated industries. He also served as an expert for Otis Elevator in cartel damages proceedings before European courts, where he helped secure a high-profile win against the European Commission.

He has supported clients in merger and regulatory proceedings involving Mattress Firm/Tempur Sealy, Kroger/Albertsons, United Technologies/Rockwell Collins, and multiple utility mergers. He has also worked alongside leading academic experts in major monopolization and cartel litigations, including the Blue Cross Blue Shield Antitrust Litigation MDL and National ATM Council v. Visa.

In consumer protection and product liability, Dr. Verlinda has provided testimony and damages analyses in cases involving false advertising, defective products, and data breaches. His experience includes economic analyses in the GM ignition switch recalls, the Volkswagen diesel emissions litigation, and the Marriott data breach class action.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Verlinda was a Principal at The Brattle Group and served for eight years as a staff economist at the DOJ Antitrust Division, where he investigated mergers and monopolization claims across airlines, energy, payments, and consumer goods. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
