Ed Grgeta is an Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in Washington, DC. Dr. Grgeta has over 15 years of experience as a professional economist in the areas of finance, securities, bankruptcy, international arbitration, antitrust, and labor economics. He has served as an expert in litigation and arbitration and has testified on matters related to finance, antitrust, class certification, and damages. He has extensive experience managing case teams in a wide range of litigation and consulting matters. Dr. Grgeta has identified and supported new and experienced testifying experts, both academics as well as industry experts with backgrounds in banking, securities trading, hedge funds, private equity, insurance, project finance, information technology, COVID-19, and more. He has worked closely with attorneys, experts, and clients in all phases of the litigation process, including case strategy, discovery, expert reports, depositions, and trials.

In finance and securities matters, Dr. Grgeta has valued businesses and assets, conducted event studies, assessed market efficiency, analyzed cryptocurrency markets, examined options and volatility, evaluated solvency, scrutinized management projections, analyzed debt covenants, evaluated compliance with investment policies, assessed the suitability of complex securities, analyzed investment strategies, conducted statistical sampling analyses, addressed class certification issues, and measured damages. In antitrust matters, Dr. Grgeta has consulted on competitiveness of contract provisions and class certification and damages issues in numerous industries. In labor and employment cases, Dr. Grgeta has designed and valued executive compensation and consulted on lost wages, pension benefits, and off-the-clock work. Dr. Grgeta holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago, and is a CFA charterholder.
