Benjamin Roux is a Senior Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in Paris, Madrid and London.
Mr. Roux has more than thirteen years of experience performing business valuation, economic and regulatory analyses, and damages assessment, mainly in the context of international arbitration and litigations. He is recognised as a leading expert in Arbitration by Lexology Index, who describes him as a “sharp expert” with “strong industry knowledge”, who “offers pragmatic and robust solutions to meet the client's needs”.
Mr. Roux has provided expert testimony and participated in the production of expert reports on regulation and damages issues in more than 50 investment and commercial arbitration cases under ICSID, ICC, LCIA, CIMA, UNCITRAL rules among others. He has also been involved in post-M&A and shareholder disputes as well as construction arbitrations. Mr. Roux has experience in litigation cases brought before domestic tribunals and regularly advises clients in pre-litigation contexts. He has testified in English, Spanish and French.
Mr. Roux has worked for public and private companies, governments and international institutions in various industries, including electricity, oil and gas (upstream and downstream), mining, construction, infrastructure, hospitality and real estate, telecommunications, defence, financial institutions, pharmaceutical, gaming and retail. His experience also includes intellectual property disputes.
These engagements involved projects and companies located in various countries including Albania, Algeria, Benin, Bahrain, Burkina Faso, Chad, China, Cameroon, Croatia, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Ecuador, France, Germany, Gabon, Greece, India, Ireland, Ivory Coast, Japan, Libya, Mali, Mexico, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mauritius, Niger, Spain, Senegal, Switzerland, Sudan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Ukraine.
Mr. Roux holds an MSc in Corporate and Public Management from HEC Paris and an MSc in Economics and Public Policy from Sciences-Po Paris. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, granted by the CFA Institute. Mr. Roux is a member of the SFEV (Société Française des Evaluateurs), the ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration) and the CEIA (Club Español e Iberoamericano del Arbitraje).
