Alison Forman is a Senior Vice President with Compass Lexecon based in Chicago. Ms. Forman is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), with nearly three decades of experience consulting on complex commercial litigation and regulatory enforcement matters.
She specializes in accounting, financial reporting, and auditing matters, including those involving the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and state boards of accountancy. Ms. Forman has extensive experience across all phases of litigation, including mediation and trial, and has worked across a broad range of industries, including financial institutions, oil & gas, real estate, healthcare, retail, automotive, solar, technology, and construction.
Ms. Forman’s expertise includes financial reporting under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), financial restatements, alleged fraud, materiality assessments, SEC disclosures, and internal control over financial reporting (ICFR). She also evaluates auditor conduct under American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and PCAOB standards, including independence and quality control issues. She has significant experience in matters involving financial institutions, including lending practices, loan loss allowances, and mortgage-backed securities.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Ms. Forman was a Principal and Co-Leader of the Accounting Practice at an economic consulting firm.
