Alberto is a Senior Economist in Compass Lexecon's energy, based in Madrid.
He specializes in the economic analysis of energy markets, advising clients on market design, regulation, energy transition strategy, and dispute resolution. His work spans power market modeling, decarbonization planning, and the evaluation of investment and policy decisions across the electricity and gas sectors.
Alberto has experience supporting regulators, utilities, investors, and international organizations, combining rigorous quantitative analysis with a deep understanding of market structures and regulatory frameworks. He has also contributed to expert evidence in commercial and investment arbitration, involving asset valuation, regulatory interpretation, and market forecasting.
Before joining Compass Lexecon, Alberto worked in the energy practices of two global consulting firms, where he advised public and private clients on strategic and regulatory matters.
He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Economics and Markets from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He is a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English.
