American Express GBT / Hogg Robinson Group Cleared European Commission Merger

In July 2018, the European Commission cleared the transaction between American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) and Hogg Robinson Group (HRG), two global corporate travel management companies, which was announced in February 2018.
Compass Lexecon analyzed the competitive effects of the proposed merger. We presented our economic analyses - inter alia, an analysis of market shares and a bidding analysis - to competition authorities across the world, including the European Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice.
