Professor Seru Joins Other Prominent Stanford Compass Lexecon Affiliates

Compass Lexecon is proud to announce that Professor Amit Seru has affiliated with our firm. Professor Seru is the Steven and Roberta Denning Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. He also serves as a co-editor of The Journal of Finance. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He has received various National Science Foundation (NSF) grants and was named as one of the top 25 Economists under 45 by the International Monetary Fund in 2014. Most recently he received the Alexandre Lamfalussy research fellowship from BIS related to his work on intermediation by fintech and big tech firms.

Professor Seru’s research focuses on corporate finance with emphasis on financial intermediation and regulation, technological innovation and incentive provision and financing in firms. He has published in the Journal of Political Economy, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and other peer-reviewed journals. He has presented his research to U.S. and international regulatory agencies, including the SEC, the Fed, FDIC, CFPB, FINRA, ECB and the Bank for International Settlement (BIS). His research has been featured in major media, including the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Financial Times and the Economist.

Professor Seru joins his Stanford colleagues Professors Robert Daines, Matthew Gentzkow and Ali Yurukoglu who are all affiliates of our firm.  We are particularly excited to have developed relationships with these world class professors at one of the world’s leading universities.
