Earlier this year, Professor Haile helped lead a Compass Lexecon team that supported AT&T—along with its outside counsel, including Arnold & Porter, Crowell & Moring, and Sidley Austin—in securing regulatory approval by the DOJ and FCC of its acquisition of DirecTV. He has also worked with Compass Lexecon in making submissions to the FCC on issues related to upcoming spectrum auctions.

Mark Israel, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Compass Lexecon's Washington, DC Office stated, "Phil brings so much to the table on every project, as a clear and innovative thinker, an excellent communicator, and a leading scholar in auctions, competition, and industrial organization economics. We've already had great experiences with him on multiple projects and are thrilled to formalize and extend our affiliation."

Professor Haile added, "I've been fortunate to work with Compass Lexecon on a few projects already and have been extremely impressed each time. I'm excited to join the firm; I can hardly imagine a better partner."
