Professor Damien Neven, Former Chief Competition Economist at the European Commission, Joins Compass Lexecon

Compass Lexecon is pleased to announce that Professor Damien Neven has joined the firm's Brussels office as a Senior Consultant and member of the firm's Advisory Committee. In addition to his position at Compass Lexecon, Professor Neven is Professor of Economics at The Graduate Institute, Geneva, and has also has been teaching at INSEAD, the University of Brussels, the College of Europe and the University of Lausanne. He is a distinguished academic economist with a particular focus on competition economics and international economic integration. His most recent special interest area has been the law and economics of enforcement and international coordination.

Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Professor Neven was a Senior Academic Consultant to CRA. From 2006 to 2011 he served as Chief Competition Economist at the Directorate General for Competition at the European Commission. During his time at the Commission, he spearheaded the tripling of the Chief Economist Team from around 10 to nearly 30 highly trained economists, and played a role in all the key policy and case assessment developments.
