Verdi Choo

Verdi Choo is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Singapore.

Verdi has advised on mergers and antitrust investigations before the European Commission and other competition authorities in APAC and the Americas, covering matters in the energy, insurance, media, semiconductors, technology, telecommunications, and transport industries.

Before the European Commission, Verdi has advised on several merger cases including the Phase 2 merger investigations of PKN Orlen/Lotos and E.On/Innogy, as well as the Phase 1 merger proceedings of Marsh & McLennan Companies/Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group and The Walt Disney Company/Twenty-First Century Fox. He has also provided economic advice on damages estimation for a heavy truck manufacturer in the context of litigation proceedings.

Verdi’s regional experience includes advising on cases before authorities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, and Thailand.

Verdi holds a BSc (Honours degree) in Economics from the University of Warwick.
