Sofía Galán is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid.
Before joining Compass Lexecon, Sofía worked as an Economist for the DG Economics at the European Central Bank and as a Research Analyst in the Macroeconomic Studies Unit and the Labour Market Unit at Banco de España.
Sofía’s consultancy work focuses on the application of economic analysis and econometrics techniques to competition policy. She has worked on mergers, cartels, abuse of dominant position and damages cases. Her experience covers a wide range of industries, including consumer goods, automotive industry, cement, and tobacco.
She holds a Ph.D. in Economics, an M.Sc. in Economics “Economic theory and Quantitative Methods” and a B.A. in Economics, from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.
