Rui Pratinha

Rui Pratinha is a Senior Economist with Compass Lexecon based in Madrid. He is a member of its energy practice.
During his time at Compass Lexecon, Rui has gained extensive experience in international arbitration disputes, developing valuation models and supporting experts in drafting reports and giving oral testimony in the context of disputes related to changes in the Spanish energy market regulation. He has also worked on gas price reviews, arbitrations and commercial disputes in Spanish gas markets.
In addition, Rui has consulted on several regulatory and market investigations into the electricity and gas sector in Spain and Portugal. He has also worked on the price modeling of European power markets in the context of the development of transmission infrastructure in Europe.
Rui holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Porto and an M.Sc. in Specialized Economic Analysis from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, he worked for another consulting firm as an analyst in the corporate finance practice where his work focused on valuation and M&A due diligence processes.
