Roman Fischer is a Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in Brussels.

Roman advises clients on all aspects of competition and antitrust matters with focus on merger control and cartel litigation cases.

Roman has more than ten years of consulting experience in competition cases both before the European Commission and national competition authorities in Europe and worldwide. He is particularly experienced in merger control cases, including several Phase II and high-profile mergers such as AerCap/GECAS, Novelis/Aleris, Linde/Praxair, Ahold/Delhaize, TEVA/Mylan (adverse), GSK/Novartis, Telefonica/E-Plus, and many others approved at Phase I. Further, Roman has advised both plaintiffs and claimants in cartel litigation cases during settlement negotiations, in German and UK courts as well as before arbitration tribunals. Roman’s work has covered a number of different industries such as aviation, automotive, industrial gases, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, retail and FMGC.

For consecutive years, Roman has been listed as a Future Leader in Competition Economics by Who’s Who Legal. Roman holds a Economics MSc Degree from the Humboldt University Berlin and obtained practical experience at firms in Berlin and Brussels prior to joining Compass Lexecon. He is fluent in German and English.
