Dr. Roberto Venturini is a Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in the Brussels office.

Roberto’s main area of expertise is civil litigation and damage quantification in Article 101 cases, with a focus on information exchanges.

He has contributed to the preparation of economic evidence and assisted legal teams in court proceedings in many European jurisdictions, including France, Belgium, and at the Competition Appeal Tribunal in the UK. He has testifying experience in Italian Courts. He is fluent in Italian, English, and French.

He has over 10-year experience in the application of econometric techniques for causal inference and simulation techniques. He specializes in liability assessments, overcharge analyses and empirical analysis of pass-on effects, with experience acquired across large litigation projects such as Trucks and Interchange Fees. He has also experience in antitrust investigations and merger assessments.

Roberto holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management), where he conducted research on Competition Policy enforcement, International Trade and Firm Organization.

Previously, he obtained an M.Res. from the Toulouse School of Economics and a joint undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Trento and the University of Strasbourg. His research has been published in leading economics journals, including American Economic Review, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, and Research Policy.
