Richard Kamp is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London and Lisbon.
Richard specialises in the application of economic analysis and econometrics to competition policy, with a focus on merger assessments, cartel investigations and the quantification of damages in private litigation. He has experience in a wide range of sectors, including transport, telecommunications, financial services, chemicals, retail and healthcare.
Richard regularly advises on complex competition cases throughout Europe. His recent work includes assisting a heavy truck manufacturer in multi-jurisdictional cartel damages litigation, working closely with legal teams and providing support at court hearings. He has also been involved in interchange fee litigation in the UK, and has contributed to proceedings relating to the Spanish milk buying cartel. On the mergers side, he has advised on transactions such as the Vodafone/Nowo merger in Portugal and Independent Vetcare's (IVC) acquisitions of veterinary practices in the UK.
Richard holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon) and a B.Sc. in Economics from the Freie Universität Berlin. He is fluent in German, English and French and has a working knowledge of Portuguese and Spanish.
