Richard Kamp is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Lisbon.

Richard specialises in the application of economic analysis and econometric techniques to competition policy issues, including the competitive impact of mergers and cartels, as well as the quantification of damages in the context of private litigation cases.

Richard’s work covers a wide range of industries, including transportation, telecommunications, financial services, chemicals, retail and healthcare.

Richard contributes to the estimation of damages for a heavy truck manufacturer in ongoing litigation across multiple European jurisdictions. He is also advising in relation to interchange fee litigation in the UK against Visa and Mastercard and has been involved in litigation relating to the Spanish milk buying cartel. His recent merger work includes the Vodafone/Nowo merger in the Portuguese telecommunications sector and advising Independent Vetcare (IVC) on its acquisitions of various independent veterinary businesses in the UK.

Richard holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon) and a B.Sc. in Economics from the Freie Universität Berlin. He is fluent in German, English and French and has a working knowledge of Portuguese and Spanish.
