Pedro is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Lisbon

Pedro specializes in the application of economic theory and empirical techniques to competition policy matters in the context of merger assessments, Article 101 and Article 102 proceedings and the quantification of damages cases in litigations and arbitrations.

During his time in Compass Lexecon, Pedro gained experience in mergers, cartels, cases of abuse of dominant position, and follow-on damages proceedings.

His work spans several industries, including telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, manufacturing and healthcare. Pedro has experience in proceedings before the European Commission and national competition authorities, such as the Portuguese Competition Authority (Vodafone / Nowo), the UK CMA (Vodafone / Three UK JV), and the Brazilian Competition Authority.

Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Pedro has worked in the Bank of Portugal and as a Teaching Assistant at Nova School of Business and Economics (Lisbon).

Pedro holds a MSc in Economics and a BSc in Economics both from the Nova School of Business and Economics. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
