Nicola Mazzarotto is an Executive Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in London. He brings over two decades of experience in competition economics, economic regulation, litigation and economic policy.

Nicola has worked with corporate clients across many sectors on competition and regulatory economics, supporting businesses through merger reviews, investigations and regulatory matters. He has represented clients in competition cases in the UK and Europe and acted as an expert witness in court and arbitration proceedings across Europe and North America.

His expertise spans a broad range of industries and market models, including complex market strategies in innovative and dynamic industries. He has also advised regulators and governments on a range of policy issues.

Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Nicola was Global Head of Economics at KPMG, where he led a team advising on complex competition, regulatory and macroeconomic issues. Most recently, he worked at AlixPartners, contributing to the growth of its economics practice in Europe.

Nicola holds a PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia and an MSc from the London School of Economics. He has published on a range of issues including the economics of business-to-business bargaining and the use of economic evidence in dynamic industries.
