Martina Caldana is Vice President and Deputy Head of Compass Lexecon’s Milan office.

Martina has advised clients on a variety of Global, European and Italian merger cases, as well as on cases involving various allegations of anticompetitive practices under EU, UK, and Italian competition law and follow-on damage cases.

Martina’s merger experience includes some of the most high-profile Global and European mergers in recent years: FCA Group/PSA; PKN Orlen/Grupa Lotos; EON/RWE; Bayer/Monsanto; Deutsche Boerse/London Stock Exchange; GlaxoSmithKlein/Novartis. Martina’s experience on anticompetitive practices includes information sharing cases (e.g. information sharing in the EU financial markets, car financing), abuse of dominant position cases (e.g. telecommunication, airport facilities), and joint bidding cases (e.g. private security services).

Martina is a Visiting Professor at the University of Pavia (Italy) and a frequent speaker at conferences and events on competition law and economics.

Martina holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Economics (with distinction) from Bocconi University, where she specialized in industrial organization and competition policy.
