Mario Polus

Mario Polus is a Senior Economist with Compass Lexecon based in London and Düsseldorf.

Mario has several years of experience in economic consulting. He has been involved in a number of high-profile cases before international competition authorities and courts, including the European Commission and the US Department of Justice. He has worked on merger control cases, cartel damage cases and abuse of dominance cases. Mario has experience of working across a range of industries, including trucks, car parking heaters, oil service providers, furniture retail, railway tracks, air cargo, sugar, telecoms, graphite electrodes, contrast media, industrial lubricants, flour, and drugstore articles.

Before joining Compass Lexecon in 2017, Mario worked for two years in NERA’s European head office in Berlin, where he worked on merger and cartel damage cases.

Mario holds an M.Sc. in Economics with a specialization in Economics of Industry from the London School of Economics and a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Studies with a specialization in Quantitative Economics from the University of Konstanz, Germany. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College London.

Mario is fluent in German and English, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish and French.
