Luke Gardner is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Brussels.

Luke has advised clients on a wide variety of competition policy issues, covering a diverse range of sectors including technology, transportation, energy, entertainment & media, digital platforms, and healthcare & life sciences.

Luke has been involved in competition cases before the European Commission, the UK CMA, and the Canadian Competition Bureau, among others. Some of his recent work includes advising on the competitive effects of high-profile mergers, including NVIDIA/Run:ai, Catalent/Novo Nordisk, Thermo Fisher Scientific/Olink, Bell Media/Outfront Media, Farfetch/YOOX Net-A-Porter Group/Richemont, NVIDIA/Arm, Air Canada/Air Transat, E.ON/Innogy, and Walt Disney/21st Century Fox. He was also part of teams that advised a smartphone manufacturer on excessive pricing and pass-on of mobile network standard essential patents, and estimated damages for a heavy truck manufacturer in the context of litigation proceedings.

Luke holds an M.Sc. in Specialized Economic Analysis from the Barcelona School of Economics (‘BSE’), specialising in competition, regulation, and markets, and a B.A. (Honours) in Economics with a concentration in applied energy economics from the University of Calgary.
