Kun Huang is an Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon and Head of the firm’s Beijing office. Dr. Huang has extensive experience applying economic and quantitative analysis to areas including antitrust, intellectual property, damages and competition policy in China, the U.S., and other jurisdictions. His experience spans a broad range of industries including high tech, digital platforms, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, payments, transportation, publishing, chemicals, and medical devices.

Dr. Huang has served as an outside economic expert to advise China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) on multiple cross-border and domestic mergers. He has submitted expert reports to numerous state and provincial antitrust authorities and served as a testifying expert on a variety of economic issues before courts in China. Dr. Huang has been regularly invited to speak at conferences or seminars on competition, damages, and FRAND licensing issues. He has published articles in law and economics journals including the Antitrust Law Journal, Journal of Antitrust Enforcement, and Competition Law & Policy Debate.

Dr. Huang holds a Ph.D. in Economics and an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. in Economics from Peking University.
