Dr. Johannes Odenkirchen is an Economist with Compass Lexecon, based in Düsseldorf.

Johannes’ work focuses on the application of economic analysis and econometric techniques to competition policy cases, including both antitrust and merger control cases.

Recently, he advised on the E.ON/Innogy energy merger with Phase II proceedings before the European Commission.

Before joining Compass Lexecon in 2021, Johannes worked as a (Post-)Doctoral Researcher at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) and as an economist at DICE Consult GmbH, where he worked on cartel damage cases and regulatory investigations in the energy, gasoline and telecommunications industry.

Johannes holds a Ph.D. in Competition Economics from Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) and an M.Sc. in Economics from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. His research interests lie in Industrial Organization, Applied Microeconomics and Experimental Economics.
