James Forster is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Los Angeles.

James’ work focuses on the rigorous application of econometrics and economic theory to competition policy cases. His recent work has involved the assessment of the competitive effects of several mergers, the estimation of cartel follow-on damages and several conduct-related cases.

Select examples of James’ recent work include the acquisition by Arthur J. Gallagher of Willis Re and the acquisition of G.E. Biopharma by Danaher. He is also part of the team estimating damages for a heavy truck manufacturer in the context of litigation proceedings.

Prior to working at Compass Lexecon, James worked in the competition team of a UK regulator.

James holds an MMath in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick (during which he focused on Economics, Statistics and Data Science), and a PgCert in Econometrics from Birkbeck, University of London. James is also part of Compass Lexecon’s data science team.
