James Forster

James Forster is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Los Angeles.
James’ work focuses on the rigorous application of data science, econometrics and economic theory to antitrust cases.
Select examples of James’ recent work include Google’s AdTech trial, numerous pieces of work for Meta, Epic Games’ EU complaint against Apple, Amazon’s EU Digital Services Act submission, and Pfizer’s acquisition of Seagen. He has developed econometric models of overcharge and damages in several arenas, including car and truck manufacturing, cardboard packaging, power cables, and packaged tuna products
Prior to working at Compass Lexecon, James worked in the competition team of a UK regulator.
James holds an MMath majored in Economics, Statistics, and Data Science from the University of Warwick, and a PgCert in Econometrics from Birkbeck, University of London. James is also part of Compass Lexecon’s data science team, focusing on introducing new tools and techniques to the team in Los Angeles.
