Ismael Martinez is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid.
Dr. Martinez provides economic and financial analyses to advise clients in international arbitration proceedings and negotiations. His expertise includes price reviews, damage estimations and other valuations across the energy sector, particularly in gas and LNG markets. He regularly works on the preparation of expert reports and assists experts in providing written and oral testimony before national and international courts, such as the ICC and LCIA. Dr. Martinez has advised clients in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America.
He joined Compass Lexecon in 2023 from another established consultancy in Madrid, where he also gained experience on disputes in the manufacturing and transportation industries.
Dr. Martinez holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics, in Germany. His research has been published in leading outlets such as the Journal of Economic Theory.
