Inés Noval is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Brussels.

Inés’ work focuses on the application of economic analysis and econometric techniques to competition policy cases, including the assessment of the competitive effects of mergers, market definition, anti-competitive practices, and damages estimations.

Inés has been involved in a number of high-profile cases relating to conduct and damage estimations before competition authorities such as the European Commission and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the UK, and other national authorities.

Inés has recently provided economic support in antitrust and competition cases in the digital platforms and telecommunications sectors, the dairy industry, and the tyre manufacturing and distribution industry. She was also part of the team that advised a FMCG manufacturer regarding an investigation by the European Commission into allegations of abuse of dominance. Inés has previously worked on the estimation of damages following an Article 101 TFEU infringement by heavy truck manufacturers fined by the European Commission.

Inés holds an M.A. in European Economic Studies and Public Policy Analysis from the College of Europe in Bruges and a B.Sc. in Economics and Finance from the University of Exeter.
