Gytautas Karklius is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London.

Gytautas brings valuable experience in competition economics from roles in consulting and at the UK competition authority.

As a consultant, Gytautas was involved in several merger investigations before the European Commission and national competition authorities as well as cases involving various allegations of anticompetitive practices. He is particularly experienced in cases before the UK courts and worked on several follow-on and standalone competition cases.

At the CMA (UK competition authority) Gytautas was involved in Phase 1 and Phase 2 merger investigations (including Broadcom / VMware and Adobe / Figma) as well as a cartel case. His work involved providing recommendations to decision makers on which theories of harm to investigate what types of evidence to gather and what the outcome of these cases should be.

Gytautas has experience in a wide range of sectors, including digital platforms, retail, transportation, and telecommunications. Gytautas was also a visiting lecturer at ISM University of Management and Economics in Lithuania.

Gytautas holds an MPhil in Economic Research from the University of Cambridge and a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Warwick as well as a PGDip in EU Competition Law from King’s College London.
