Dr. Giulia Pavan is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Milan.
Giulia’s work applies econometric techniques to antitrust and competition policy. She has assisted clients in civil litigation and damage quantification in Article 101 cases. She has contributed to the preparation of economic evidence (overcharge econometric analyses) and assisted legal teams in court proceedings in the UK, Italy, Netherlands and Belgium, among others. She has assisted clients in merger and abuse of dominance cases with the European Commission and National Competition Authorities. Her work experience covers a range of industries, including high technology, transport (trucks, trains, and airlines).
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Giulia developed her expertise in the academic sector. She was a Postdoctoral researcher at the Toulouse School of Economics, where she worked both on industrial organization and environmental economics.
Giulia holds a Ph.D. in econometrics and empirical economics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the Einaudi Institute of Economics and Finance, where she specialized in empirical industrial organization.
