Dr. Georg Clemens is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Düsseldorf. Before joining in 2015, Georg worked for an economic consultancy specializing in competition in Berlin.

Georg has worked on a number of high-profile cases relating to a wide range of competition matters including antitrust investigations, mergers and cartel damage estimations. He has advised clients in a number of industries including telecommunications, financial services, energy, fast-moving consumer goods, and agricultural products across several jurisdictions. He is currently working on antitrust issues related to “big data” and is a member of Compass Lexecon’s big data working group.

Georg holds a Ph.D. (magna cum laude) in Economics from DICE (University of Düsseldorf) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Bonn, where he specialized in European competition policy and European regulation of network industries.

Georg is a visiting lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf. His research has been published in Competition Policy International and in the Journal of Economics & Management Strategy.
