Florian Mockel is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London.

Florian has over a decade of experience advising clients on a range of competition cases. He has worked on merger cases before the European Commission as well as national competition authorities around the world, spanning a range of industries including entertainment & media, healthcare, and consumer research. Florian has advised clients in litigation proceedings before national courts in Germany, the UK, and across the EU, as well as international arbitration tribunals (ICSID), including on the Trucks (defendant-side) and Interchange Fees (claimant-side) cases before the Competition Appeal Tribunal. Florian has previously worked in Energy and regulatory economics in Berlin and Washington, DC.

Florian holds an M.Sc. in Economics with a specialization in Game and Contract Theory from the London School of Economics and a BA (First Class Honours) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. A native German speaker, he is also fluent in English and French, and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
