Felix Schmidt is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in London.

Felix has experience in economic and financial analysis, particularly in the context of litigation, arbitration and competition cases in the energy sector. He has supported clients in investor-state and commercial arbitrations, mostly within the electricity and gas industries and worked on competition proceedings in the UK High Court and on submissions to the European Commission.

His recent work includes the estimation of damages in disputes concerning power generation assets, the valuation of gas infrastructure and interconnectors, and the economic analysis of contractual flexibility in long-term gas supply agreements. Felix has also contributed to empirical analyses in competition cases, including a follow-on class action related to foreign exchange market manipulation.

Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, Felix worked at a leading economic consulting firm in London and Berlin, where he was involved in energy market modelling, regulatory analysis, and damages quantification.

He has taught as a practitioner in tutorials on valuation in the Master in Finance programme at London Business School.

Felix has published several academic articles on future energy system design in leading energy journals.

He holds a PhD in Economics from the Technical University of Berlin, an MSc in Advanced Economics and Finance from Copenhagen Business School, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Cologne.
