Eeva Hietamäki is a Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Helsinki.

Eeva’s work focuses on the application of economic analysis and empirical techniques to competition policy cases. Her work has included the assessment of competitive effects in mergers, and other economic analyses under Article 101 and Article 102 TFEU proceedings.

Eeva has worked on cases before the European Commission and various national competition authorities in the EU. She has provided help to clients in the self-assessments regarding the pricing policies of potential anticompetitive effects.

Recently, she assisted in providing economic advise to parties in merger proceedings of Lantmännen/MyllynParas (frozen bakery products), Donges Steel/Ruukki (steel construction), Sanoma/Alma Media (newspapers) and Caverion/Maintpartner (industrial maintenance services) before the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority; Altia/Arcus (wine and spirits) before the Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian Competition authorities; Cargotec/Konecranes (container handling equipment), EON/Innogy (energy), Walt Disney/21st Century Fox (film studios and tv channels), and Framatome/Rolls-Royce (I&C safety systems in nuclear power plants) before the European Commission, the CMA, and other jurisdictions.

Eeva holds a M.Sc. in Economics from Aalto University School of Business and a Master’s degree in International Management from the CEMS programme.
