Eero Nurmi
Economist
Helsinki
Eero Nurmi is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Helsinki
Eero’s work focuses primarily on the assessment of competitive effects and other economic analyses under Article 101 and 102 TFEU proceedings. His experience includes matters involving market power, horizontal and vertical agreements, and intellectual property valuation. Eero has supported clients in cases before the European Commission, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority, and in arbitration tribunals.
To support these proceedings, Eero applies advanced analytical techniques to complex datasets. His toolkit includes modern econometric methods and geospatial analysis, which he uses to provide empirical evidence for competition-related matters.
Before joining Compass Lexecon, Eero worked as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he advised industrial clients on operational efficiency. He also held a role as a project manager at Aalto University, overseeing projects at the science-policy interface.
Eero is currently finishing a PhD in Economics at Aalto University, where his research focuses on the economics of innovation and empirical microeconomics. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from Aalto University and an M.Sc. in Law from the University of Helsinki. This dual training in law and economics allows him to navigate the technical requirements of empirical analysis while remaining closely aligned with the legal nuances of competition law.
