Catalina is Senior Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Santiago

Catalina is an economist with ten years of professional experience, specializing in competition economics, regulations, and public policy impact.

Throughout her career in antitrust analysis, Catalina has worked on high-profile merger reviews across a wide range of industries, including transportation, lithium and entertainment. Her experience also encompasses antitrust litigation and cases involving abuse of dominant position in Chile, Peru, and Ecuador. In addition, she has been actively involved in various arbitration proceedings in Chile, with a particular focus on damage assessment..

Before joining Compass Lexecon in Santiago, Catalina worked at Compass Lexecon based in London. There, she was closely involved in the analysis of mergers in the telecom and paper industries. She was also involved in the damage estimation in antitrust litigation cases, and market research projects for industry leading clients.

Prior to her work at Compass Lexecon, Catalina worked as an advisor in the Studies Division of the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency of Chile, and in the Studies Division of the Central Bank of Chile, where she worked as an academic research assistant on various topics.

Catalina holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the London School of Economics, a Master's degree in Economics from the Universidad Católica de Chile and a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics from the same university.

Her areas of interest include competition economic and econometrics, as well as public policy impact assessment.
