Alexandro Ruiz is an Economist at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid.

Alexandro's expertise lies in utilizing economic analysis and econometric methods for the competition practice, which includes cases of antitrust and abuse of dominance, as well as merger control and the estimation of damages in private litigations.

Alexandro’s experience covers a wide range of industries including trucks, food, delivery platforms or real estate. He was involved in several competition cases before the European Commission and across national jurisdictions, such as Spain, Brazil, Chile, Norway or Denmark.

Alexandro holds a M.Sc and a Ph.D. in Economics from CEMFI, where he specialized in industrial organization, empirical economics and computational economics. In his doctoral thesis, he uses tools from structural econometrics to investigate the relationship between the increasing presence of common shareholders across firms within the same industry and their incentives to compete.

He is native in Spanish and fluent in English.
