Dr. Alejandro Lombardi is a Senior Vice President with Compass Lexecon, based in Buenos Aires. He specializes in the analysis of complex economic issues arising in the context of disputes and competition processes.
In his dispute resolution practice, Alejandro has participated in over 30 arbitrations, having served as a quantum and economic expert witness in proceedings before ICSID, ICC, and CCL. His expertise in this area has been recognized by Who's Who Legal's independent research.
Beyond disputes, Alejandro provides competition and strategic economic advice to governments and private businesses. Dr. Lombardi has authored various economic reports presented to competition or regulatory authorities in Latin America, Europe, and Oceania. He has also provided strategic advice to firms in the context of high-stakes regulatory processes, such as spectrum auctions. His work spans a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on telecommunications.
Prior to joining Compass Lexecon, he has worked in both government and consulting. Dr. Lombardi served as a member of the board of directors of Argentina’s International Trade Commission, and as an economic advisor at the competition group of UK’s communications regulator (Ofcom). He has also worked as an associate at LECG’s arbitration practice.
Dr. Lombardi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Toulouse School of Economics and BA in economics from the Buenos Aires University.
